Default RCU- Better or Worse II

I am sorry to restart this, but I feel there should be somewhere someone can discuss their opinions of the site.

I miss 2 things about the old site:
#1 I miss seeing the Picture frame showing that a post would contain photos.
#2 I miss scrolling down to the bottom of the main page to see if new stuff was posted.

Now that being said, I love the new site. Once I got the hang of it, it flows. That d#@n checkbox with "Take me back to forum after posting" or whatever it says is annoying, but I have started to remind myself to uncheck it everytime.
All of the new members that I have talked to, that did not have experience of the old RCU love it. They like it all! I have to admit, after the switch it took me awhile to get on and stay on, but it is really a greater deal for all of us.

Thank you. But everyone..please refrain from posting what you don't like or what isn't working on the forums. we are in the process of uploading new code so I would rather hear what isn't working or what is left after this major revision. MOST of the gripes have been addressed.

BTW...I KNOW there are issues on this forum that make it harder to use. I use this thing everday so I notice it as much as the next guy. I have over 5000 posts! Nobody wants everything fixed and working seamlessly more than me. Hang tight as I am confirming the fix of one last bug before we launch the code. The site will be down for 15 minutes to an hour for the upgrade.

don't worry runover1 this thread will get closed shortly just like the other one did. There will be no criticism allowed toward RCU since everything is sooooo perfect here.
RCU has long ways to go to before this site gets as great as it used to be.
Nuff said

Geez tex, a lot of posts slamming Marc have been left up. I understand that people don't like change and are ticked about it, but you can't blame the guy for trying to set up something to better the site and maybe put a little coin in his pocket to cover the costs and time. He isn't going to get rich at it by any means. All he can do is try to make it work and deal with the barage of people ticked about the change.

Look all,
We the userbase voted with our membership...the old/NEW RCO/RCAirport VS the OLD RCU...and RCU won...by the thousands. Isn't that the loudest vote there is?

We had this format (mostly) in RCA and we didn't care for it. The numbers that are here available for all to see state that the auction format has gone over like a lead ballon. Most people (those who are not programmers or moderators here at RCU) don't like it.
Thankfully the forums were brought back to the old RCU standard (mostly again) and we stayed.
Bugs aside, the overall consenus is that we (mostly) don't like the NEW & improved marketplace.
That's the truth, and it hurts the admins here.
I personally apoligise that this fact hurts you, I see the countless hours you all have put into trying to make this the best place on the net, hell you had the best place (un-argueably) before the merger.
I see your efforts, and I am grateful for them.

The reason this thread and many more like it keep coming back is that we don't think that you really get it.
That fact hurts us, the membership, too.

Thanks,
Eldon

guys, give it a rest...

if it aint what you want, and it dosen't suit your excact requirements for a "global RC forum" start you own, with all your wants and wishes. And leave us to do what we want, discuss RC.

How many times do we curse Mr. Bill Gates.... yet we all use his software.... (and I bet dollars to donuts that most of you couldn't handle teh good old days of text based BBss on a DOS 3.3 or 5 machine. )

crap, I want a BMW, but I gotta settle for the Mazda. And to be honest, it does what is promised, and I really don't have any complaints. If we all got what we wanted and wished for, then what's the use?
