I have a Tower Hobbies System 3000 Transmitter and receiver. I crashed my plane and the antenna for the receiver was cut in half. I would like to replace it, and I was wondering what the tolerance is on the length of the wire. Also, is there a specification on what kind of wire to use (specifically the guage).
Thanks,
Todd

Hi Todd,
If you are very good with a soldering iron, and safety consideration (do a COMPLETE and thorough ground check, after for safety purposes) and the warranty are not a issue, you would want to look for 22 gauge wire, and the length will be:
approximately 19 1/2" for surface
approximately 39 1/2" for Air
But, our recommendation is to send the receiver in to be repaired.
I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.
