Magnum 2PL "Dual Rates" ?

Hi, today I bought one at my L.H.S. with the assumption that I could switch steering rates "on the go"... But, unless I'm missing something (wouldn't be the first time) it looks like all it has is a variable rate steering? I want to be able to go from about 60% to 100% as I go from a high speed run down the straight, to a relatively sharp turn around at each end. (I drive at an abandoned Air Force base runway, and want both rates, instantly switchable, with my Schumacher Fusion .21 T.C. that can get up to almost 80 M.P.H.) There don't seem to be any instructions regarding programming a true "dual rate", and via experimentation, all I seem to be able to get is a variable rate?! Am I not doing something right, or is it "mis-labeling" on the box??? Thanks...

What, no comments? Admittedly, I'm a Hitec guy, maybe I'm not programming it correctly? I bought this one because I thought I could switch from low to high rate "on the fly" by rocking my thumb. Thought it'd be a cool feature... I'm beginning to regret it though!

Hi proptop,
The 2PL is a very basic 2 channel radio and as such it does not offer the true Dual Rates that you are looking for. It does only have the variable rate that you refer to. For the dual rates that you are wanting, you would need to go with the 3PDF or 3PJS radios.
I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.

Krysta, thanks for your time. However it shouldn't say "Dual Rate" on the box then should it!? Kinda like false advertising, huh?! I'm a little P.O. because I didn't get what I paid for. I expected Futaba to deliver as advertised. I know they make a good product, and that's why I bought it, but why should I have to buy annother radio to get what I should have gotten, according to the box???
