Default R138DP PCM Reciever

I was wondering if i can run 6 volts on the R138DP PCM Reciever? I see a lot of guys running 6 volts for the servos, but running 4.6 volts for the reciever. What it the pro & cons of this?
Thanks for your time.

Yes, you can run 5 nicad cells on the receiver.
It doesn't hurt it.

Just purchased a 138DP, have you had good luck with this RX? It's going in an F-18 DF. I need all 8 ch, Is it normal practice to Use a Y connector to link in the 8th ch. with the battery?

Yes, just mix the the two channels (for me 4&7) as one of your program mixes. Make sure link and trim are both on and the mix is at 100%
