Can the tx battery be disharged/cycled in place using a Accu cycle? I get no reading on the discharge mode, making me think it may be diode protected?

Hi bobtbarber,
Yes, our radio transmitters are "diode protected" to prevent accidental overcharging.
While some people have done this, it is NOT recommended to try to "jump" the diode, as this can cause serious damage to the unit, and will void your warranty.
You may want to purchase our Polyswitch, and install it on your "out of warranty" older radio. This will allow you to cycle your batteries in your transmitter.
Or you can send your transmitter into our service center to have this installed on your "in warranty" radio.
For information on sending this in for this service, please see our website at:

I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.
