Default MSA-10 endpoints vs throw adjustments

I don't have an MSA-10 yet, I'm just reading the manual and trying to figure out the difference between end point adjustments and throw adjustments before I spend any money. Please let me know if I've got it right.

Throw adjustment sets the maximum point the servo will move to when the transmitter stick is fully deflected. End point adjustment sets the minimum and maximum pulse widths to which the servo will respond. Right?

So if the endpoint adjustment is set smaller than the throw adjustment the servo will stop moving before the transmitter stick gets to full deflection. Of course any mixes which try to command the servo to move beyond this point will have no effect.

Ideally, the throw adjustment will set the desired servo position at full stick deflection and the end point adjustment is used to prevent any mixes from driving the servo so far past the full stick deflection position that mechanical binding occurs. Right?

If I'm not mistaken, the JR matchbox lacks the end point adjustment feature of the MSA-10. It has throw adjustment only, I think.

Default RE: MSA-10 endpoints vs throw adjustments

"Throw" and "Endpoint" adjustments are many times confused. You don't get both on a channel at the same time. The adjustments are one or the other.

Futaba calls "throw" "ATV", or Adjustable Travel Volume. This is an adjustment of the total movement of the channel. You can only adjust the total end-to-end movement of the servo when you move a stick, switch, or knob.

When you've adjusted the endpoints, you've adjusted the "throw" of the channel.
