Hello Futaba, witnessed a strange occurance today at the field, and this is the 2nd time I have witnessed this happening, OK I have a buddy with a turbine roo, he's using an 8UAP TX and a 138DP RX He has 2 rudder servos into a Y harness and a 36" lead with a choke plugging into another Y harness with the extra lead going to his nosewheel servo. He turns on and the rudders jitter and the nosewheel don't respond, he disconnects the nose wheel servo and the rudders are fine, or he disconnects the rudders and the nosewheel is fine. All the leads going to the RX are less than 36" and all of them contain chokes. I recommended getting rid of the chokes, for I use long leads with my PCM in all my giant scale aircraft and never use chokes. I was told by Steve Helms one year at the Wram show, with PCM there really is no need for chokes. He also swapped out servos and the same thing occured.

Hi frankflyboy1,
We believe that with PCM reveivers, there is no need for chokes or filters.
As he is using two Y-harnesses, it sounds as though there is a problem in that he has many places in this configuration for problems to occur. He may want to check into using as few connections as possible, and also he may want to try using something like the Heavy Duty 40" extension FUTM4148.
I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.
