I have the RTR version and it is a great truck. I'm very happy with it! The only problem I've had is the Roto-Start internal parts broke (which isn't actually part of the truck) and the differentials became out of whack a bit. I'm fixing that tomorrow...
Do what you want, but this truck is great! And the 18SS version is even better than the RTR version!

I have driven...
RC10gt
Ofna Pirate.
XTM X-Cell
Traxxas Rusty
DT Nitro Evader
HPI MT2
Of all of the above, I OWN the MT2.
I really really would like to drive the REVO.
If I could start up the "Wayback Machine", I would buy a RTR MT2, and sell the brand new T-15 on ebaby for 60.00. Take that and spend 40.00 more and pick up a O.S. .18 CV-RX, and haul absolute *****.

you should probably just get the MT2.. If you get a 2wd you may be faster in a straight line, but he will be going places you cant with his 4wd. When it comes to r/c with buddies, having the same truck or at least same class of vehicle is the most fun.
