XTM mammoth 1/8 ST. I just saw one in the lhs and it is a beast. I ran the Jato at the BMX track last night, it did OK but I need something bigger. I dont know much about XTM, is this a good truck?? Its only $350 and looks like a well built machine.

If you think that is a beast, take a look at the Duratrax warhead. Two finished in the Amain in the bigblock race at Proline Maxx challenge this year.

I was thinking of getting that last year!! LOL Its out now? Ive heard nothing about it. I liked the Mammoth because of its simple design. Looks super easy to work on. Its the size of a revo w/4wd in a St style tub chassis. Combine that with a 24-7 engine and a Hitech radio. $350. I figured there has to be a catch. Is this thing hard to get parts for?RcXtreme mag has a good review of it. It says it needs a better steering servo.

Duratrax Warhead isn't produced how they running it? It's still sitting in some Chinese warehouse.

Preproduction models making it to the hands of connected individuals is not at all uncommon. My LHS had a JATO on the shelf a couple of months before they were officially out.

I have a Mammoth ST. Wondering what the catch is on the 350 price tag? There is none... It's just a special introductory price. In a week or so (I think at the end of July) the price will go up to its normal 420 price tag. At 420 though, it's still a great deal. The Mammoth ST is very easy to work on because of its simple chassis layout. If you want to work on something on the truck, you don't have to take a bunch of other things apart like on the Savage. The ST took 1st place in the Truggy class A-Main at the O'Donnel championships a week ago.

. They've had them running for a few months now; they're just not being mass-produced yet.

I know what you mean Tricksligger. I love my Jato for the track but I need something for heavy bashing and track racing. Right now I have an S-Maxx but I need something a little more advanced, I'm thinkin a Revo or LST or something. So I'm going to sell my maxxed out rustler and save a little more for a revo most likely. (the suspension has me)
Good luck with the Mammoth, it's a cool truck.

The only thing I have heard about the mammoth is that the shock towers are strong but nothing protecting them so they tend to bend easily. Not sure if its true just heresay.
