i was installing my rx in my truck today, a futaba r133f. there's alittle label that says
"caution, this products contains a chemical which causes cancer and birth defects"

what is this chemical? do they simply mean the radio waves themselves?

I don't know, but here in California they put that on everything... I wouldn't be suprised to find it on a bottle of Gatorade...

It is probably lead in the solder that they use on the circut board.

I'd just say enjoy the new reciever while your alive

Ya, Skullbasher's right...they put it on everything...on the windows of full scale cars, they put, "Warning: Motor Vehicles contain and/or produce chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects, and other reproductive harm."

its cos los angeles is like a big cigarette. i went there a few years back, couldnt get the smell of pollution out of my nose for weeks. its a cross between exhaust fumes and armpit sweat.

You guys are right about LA though... That's why no one there owns telescopes or sunglasses, the smog is blocking out the whole sky.

Sadly the warnings are on just about anything you buy which makes them so comman everyone overlooks them.

Take your pick about what they may have labeled it for.

The solder on the circuit board.
The dimethyldoubledeath used in the process of manufacturing the electronics.
The plastic it was wrapped in.
The ink used on the cardboard box.

But we all know that its the smoke stored inside the receiver that gets let out when you hook it up backwards that is the real problem.

Yep, surveys have proven that if you eat 10 of these receivers per day for a year you may get cancer.

If you're not going to eat it don't give it a second thought. As well as racing I also fish every chance I can get, but biting a hunk of lead onto my line hasn't given me any ticks ye...t.

this hobby is is for people of all ages, so they shouldbe alittlemore specific.

fga, that was sorta the point of my post. As a society some of us have decided that we must be protected from ourselves. The slightest danger must be labeled. We have so many labels that they no longer mean anything or the labels are written by a lawyer or tech that is so scared of litigation they tend to err on the side of cover my butt no matter what some stupid person may do.


We are seeing the death of comman sense and the birth of I can do no wrong so it must be somebody elses fault for everything wrong that happens to me......I take no resposibility for may own actions mentality.

i know what you all mean about the warning labels. I used to work for Frito-Lay. When they introduced the " WoW" line the feds made them put a warning label on the bag that said eating them might cause abdominal cramping and or loose stool. It really made me want to tear open a bag and dig it. we all joked around and said that maybe we should sell them next to the toilet paper instead on the snack isle.

I blame smog as california's main problems. The rest is fruits, nuts and arnold.
