Make sure your differential is sealed. I guess a lot of people have had bad luck with the diff leaking. Also spray everything down with WD-40 so it is harder for dirt to cling on to it.

Don't follow the one guy who posts here shock setup...he has his rear shocks fully extended and don't compress and constantly breaks rear bulkheads...ST's are designed to bottom out on high jumps so the shocks/bulkheads don't take the brunt of the impact...On Jato only thing I've replaced so far as some steering rods...front control arm once and tires..I'm using Masher 2000's for the dirt...they slow it down alot but it's more managable then...they also do put alot more stress on the suspension...on the street I run Road Rage's...Jato's a snappy little street runner but not as fast as actual street designed rc's. Here's some pics of it both ways.
The TRX 2.5 Engine is a snappy engine when tuned properly...Also the right fuel matters I run 20% nitro odonnell for most cases and sometimes run 35% depends on situations.....my temps stay around 165-185F at high altitude with outside temps of 100+...I have maybe 2 gallons thru my Jato so far and 0 engine problems. Traxxas's fuel will run it fine also...either 20% or 33%...
As far as the differential leaking...there's nothing in it but some grease so I can't see how it'd leak unless they are adding a fluid to it then it surely will leak since it's just plastic and cannot properly seal itself.

add the new JATO pipe from CVEC, and you'll notice a nice difference in performance.

You should be able to find this pipe at you local hobby shop, or order it from Horizon Hobby, or Great Planes (towerhobbies)
You'll get up in RPM's faster, and gain more top end. Direct fit, made in the USA, CNC machined from a solid Aluminum stock.

hey rage 5, I had trouble starting my jato when i first got it, I switched from using that stock coil thing to heat the glowplug, i use a glowstarter, i also put and o.s. glowplug in it and have noticed a difference, if you get a glowstarter, the red dynamite and the hot shot 2 by hobbico are very good glowstarters.
