Anybody know what the best roar legal engine is for the RC10GT? Do they allow rear exh. engines with the slide valve carbs? One last question, how do the gt's compare with the losi trucks?

if you're SERIOUS about racing, get an XXXNT kit.
otherwise, stick with a .12CVR or something in that vein. don't bother with a slide carb, trust me.

The XXXNTs have an edge in handling, but the GT is still race worthy.
I agree with Tbirdjunkie, skip the slide carb, especially if your radio does not have end point adjustment.
I run an OS CVR with a rotary carb. Its not the fastest but it has good power. The guys I race against have Nova Rossi Rex engines and they are pretty good too. I have also heard the Fantoms are good.

The new fantoms are great engines. The 2005's arent as cheap to rebuild as the previous versions. Previous engines by fantom costed around $35 for a piston and sleeve set and the 2005's cost $55 now. Depending on where you race I would go with the fantom or something with a little more power than the cvr. It is a great off-road engine but if you are on a bigger track you won't be able to keep up down the straight. Rotary carbs tend to be better for most drivers for off-road, how ever I run slide cause I like the driving feel of it. Rear exhausts have more low-end power than a side-exhaust would.

I dont think so as the tr was built for touring cars. I dunno what the cvr was built for though. I have seen a cvr run with a tr and the difference was baffling to me although the tr was a modded one.

Oh, according to what my lhs told me was that it was designed to be a touring car engine. While we are talking about o.s have you seen the o.s .12 tz run yet?

I am thinking of getting the .12 for my touring car. I will be needing a new one very soon. Cant decide whether to go with the TZ, rb concepts V 12, or a novarossi .12. Most likely I will go with the tz though. But I will probably make it through the rest of the racing season with the engine I have so in between now and next march my decision will probably flip flop.

rush, i personally have 3 or 4 .12CVR's sitting waiting for action. i'm gonna go buy a TZ soon, but since the only TC i'll have will be 18CVR or 4 stroke powered, I won't have any onroad input.
one track I run at is HUGE as HELL, and NEEDS a big top end, but most are tight little tracks.
seems like i go for the same kinda tracks as i go for women, tight and little, or big (as in tall tyvm) and sweeping, HARRRR!

LOL
This has been my first year running touring cars. The track I run on is tight as hell but it still allows you to go fast. We are running 12 second lap times. I have done good so far as I have come close in being in a trophy spot during the trophy races.

Heres a link to a picture of a T C track I run at. It shows that we have lights (good for the electrics).
