pull the plug out, check to see that it is actually working with a glow starter...

are you seeing the fuel go to the engine while priming? do you by chance have a pin hole in your fuel line that is letting it suck air?

are both lights coming on with the starter?

and this problem is related the to jato in what way? the 2.5 is not a jato problem, that engine is in every car.

are you sure you charged it correctly, was it warm? lean out your idle a bit and change the glow plug.

that's because a lot of starters buy traxxas products, and the 2.5 isn't the easiest engine to tune if you don't know what your doing. Starters forget to read the manual i guess.. haha

to prime just plug the pipe and pull the pullstarter a few times...the primer button is a piece of junk

I really do wonder on this one.. my t-maxx is always off, no matter how much I tune.. the OS in my ST is always within a hair of being right.. I'm thinking that the next upgrade to my t-maxx is going to be an OS engine!!

The 2.5R's and 2.5's basically same engines are cake to tune. If you can tune a OS or other engine you sure shouldn't have a problem with a 2.5R. Most peoples problems are fuel....2.5's are fussy with the fuel they use

Sod off, moron. Anyways, maybe your engine is flooded? Try un flooding it and try it again if all else fails.

I'll go check out a quart of the red alert fuel then and see what happens, I never thought that the fuel would make that much of a difference..

joe, 4 turns out on the HSN and take the LSN out flush with the throttle arm.

your LHS isn't worth jack squat if they can't figure it out.

Ha probably, if their so hard to tune, then why can I tune it? If it's so hard to tune, why was it easy, and why is it a good beginner engine? If their so hard to tune, why do I not need to keep messing with it everytime I take it out? I only need to tune it on a normal basis, just like almost every other engine out there? (And this whole thing is about my expirences, if yours are exactly the opposite, then you suck)

Actually, I'm not a n00b to nitro, and most definately, RC. I have a Duratrax infared temp gadge. And before you start insulting the 2.5 or try to insult me, which you can't, I would like to insult you on your typing skills, yeah, incase you haven't noticed... they SUCK!! I'll actually listen to you when you learn some sense, and when you get some more knowledge about a certain item you don't like. Dunces like you are best kept ignored.

I hate the 2.5 more than you do, but if you think it's HARD to tune, there's gotta be a few loose pieces rattlin around in your head.

Last week was 100+ days here my Jato runs at 180-195 on those days and thats running on asphault...alot of long wide open running. Staying at 225 on a 80 degree day is something even an poorly tuned engine can do. Don't brag cause your obviously clueless. Maybe you should buy a Jato with that other dude and both of ya's can search for the primer bulb

As far as a 2.5 being hard to tune it isn't...it's a piece of cake to tune. The problem of tuning comes from one of 3 things and it's for all engines.

#1 Poor quality of fuel
#2 Glow Plug fried
#3 Person tuning engine is clueless how to properly tune a engine.

I'd think anyone with some real Nitro experience would agree with those 3 things as being most common problems of poorly running engines.
