yea, as long as the spur gear moves freely and if u spin the rear wheels and they move the spur gear then you have nothing to worry about.

Without starting it I flipped on the truck and controller and pressed the brake and there was just a little resistance in the spur gear. Is this normal or are my brakes screwed? I couln't start it...too late right now. What do you guys think?

if the truck is sitting on the ground can you spin the spur? if so, THAT is bad. your slipper might be WAAAAAAAY too loose, or ya mighta fried a spur from slipper slippage.

Yes it's on the ground and I can spin the spur. How do I tighten the slipper?

on the spur gear there is a spring and a nut that holds the spring to the spur gear tighten the nut down a little and that is how you tighten your slipper clutch
