I know that we all have our preferred shops we deal with...What I would like to know is why you go to your favorite Hobby shop?? and,,or why you buy from this place or that place online???
I know why I go or why I don't go but I'd like to hear from my fellow RC people..
To keep it nice and simple don't mention the names or locations of the shops good or bad...I'm in Ontario Canada and a shop in houston,Tx..is of little relevance thats why I want you to focus on the reasons why you go?????????............but feel free to say what they did right.. or what they did that was wrong enough for you not to want to go back..
I appreciate all replies
regards,
RCcanuck

SERVICE. RESPECT.
I personally will pay more to be treated nice, especially from people whose knowledge I respect.

I'm lucky. The hobby shop closest to me is also the one I like the best. They are friendly - even my wife doesn't mind going in. They are knowelagable about almost all rc vehicles. They keep tons of stock on hand and can get whatever else in (usually) less that a week. And finally their prices are usually competitive with online sites when you add shipping into the equation.
The store I won't go back to is the one where the owner actually followed me around, watching so I wouldn't steal anything. To top that off, while he was following me he acted like I was disturbing him when I asked a question. Cripes, I was the only customer in the store and he was following me anyway, what else did he have to do????????? Anyway, if that shop is my only choice, I'll do without.

Service and supply and shipping I buy from one of the big guys and they always ship items to me for 8 bucks and they come from far away and it take only two days now that's great. And my other one is a dealer and they would bend over backwards for you to make things right.

I usually shop at all the hobby shops in the area based on parts availability, price doesn't matter because I most likely need that part asap.On line I use about 4 or 5 different places but I tend to use tower the most because they have tech notes on almost every part the carry and that comes in handy when ordering parts that are not a direct replacement.

I shop at my favorite LHS because they are knowledgable in just about all RC's, there nice and will do just about anything to make you walk out with a smile on your face. They will call and make orders for you right there on the spot if they dont have what you need, they give discounts to people that buy there a lot. The guys totally nice and will do all he can to help you as much as possible.
Plus there the only close LHS that carries Losi parts, but even if the other LHS did carry Team Losi parts it still wouldnt be my favorite LHS. They just dont have the one on one touch and are more about the buck then anything.

Ill go there , and this is probably almost specific to me, if they will take me for serious as a 16 year old racer, if i go in and ask for a price on a 400 dollar engine and they say what would you want that for now i say goodbye.
The other week i was in a shop near here, and asked about carbon fibre prices, they asked what i was going t do with it i told them its going to new shocktowers for a race car project, they said wow maybe you should think about thats expensive stuff ill go get ****John Smith**** hes a fully sponsored racer and works here in the shop hes been racing such and such, i said look, i know who he is, he came 4th at the East Coast Truck Challenge, i came 3rd.
cya guys...
