What type of oil do you guys recommend for a nitro buggy's gearbox? High viscosity, low viscosity? Naming a few brand names would be cool too. Thanks

I had tried Silicone Lubricant but it doesnt help lubricate it, it simply removed dust. What is the differential fluid anyway? anything special?

Silicone GREASE works better on gearbox gears. As for inside the diff, I like using general purpose automotive grease. It is heavy and helps eliminate some wheel spin. When you are adding grease, pack the gears and the spaces around them. This helps to keep grease in contact and moving with the gears.

Silicone grease seems like a much better idea than anything I could think of, how long would you drive before you regreace the gears? once per a driving day?

k, I’m sorry but I forgot to tell you that my gearbox is not enclosed unlike yours, and thick grease might fly off, wont it? Ill definitely try to acquire some gearbox lubricant/grease to see what stays on longer.

oooooooh, hmm, i thought that something had to be used between the spur gear and the clutch bell since it feels very rough when i try to rotate it. No? or should i shift the enine half a millimeter away?

If the gear mesh feels rough then it's more then likely to close to the spur gear and will strip the spur gear pretty quickly. Here's a quick way to set up gear mesh loosen the screws that hold the engine tight to the chassis. Then take a piece of note book paper and tear a small piece off the paper. Then take that piece of paper and place it in between the bell gear and the spur gear. Then push the engine up against the spur gear, but dont push to hard then tighten the screws up and then grab the paper and pull it out. That sets the gear mesh almost perfectly. It takes all but a minute to do this and it sets the gear mesh up all most perfectly.
