I would like to rebuild my car and make my buggy a sort of a truggy by changing wheels and the clutch bell, would any one care to explain how 2 speed transmission work on nitro rc-cars. I am afraid that if the tranny senses the rpm then its going to switch way too late if i downsize the clutch bell and upsize the wheel diameter, but maybe that not how it works. Any explanation would be just great.

well, if I tried to give an accurate explaination of how it worked... it wouldn't be as good as this article http://www.rctek.com/transmission/in...ny_design.html
but usually, you can set the shift point to wherever you need it to be.

yeah, most rc's with 2 speeds have an adjustable shift point. I thought it was just my pc that didn't show the pictures, but I guess it's the site maybe?[sm=71_71.gif] anyhow, the words sure help alot.
