Default Nitro-car battery setup

Hi, am curious and probably many others are too about the best nitro-car electrical power set up. Most receivers take up to 7 volts max, or 4 AA batteries, which from my experience have a max possible mAH of 2600 at 1.2-1.5V, obviously nobody wants Ni-Cd, with its short capacity and memory affect, Ni-Mh seems like the ultimate since Lipo's discharge quite fast. So from my understanding 2600mAH of Ni-MH is the best effective battery solution. Now the charger... I am guessing Smart-Charger with its 3 stage process of gradual current increase inversely proportional to the voltage increase (or something like that). but what i would love to know is what makes it so competitive to other chargers out there half of its price... Is it only because of its quick charging ability? Or do the batteries actually last longer? What makes them so special and are the smart chargers worth it??? Would this electrical power setup look promising to you???[&:][&:]

That charger would be over the top if all your doing is charging receiver packs. a simple 50 dollar peak detection charger from duratrax or superbrain should be plenty. or even a tricklecharger since your receiver pack should last all day anyway.

So that’s the difference between a Smart Charger and a cheap charger? The function that detects peak charge and does not overvolt the batteries? and if yes, is overvolting batteries decreasing their run-time??? Thanks

Over charging the batteries shortens there life alot. you could end up ruining a pack on one charge.

ooooooo, confused it with overvolting motors.... lol, thanks for the clarification! Would you say the most mAH that AA batteries can hold is 2600mAH? if there's more i would love to know the brand that makes em. thanks again

You can go to walmart and get the same thing. That brand may not be the best, and neither may the brand at wal-mart. But the brand at walmart is a bit better. I think they should break about even factoring shipping etc.
