Default How do I defeat thread lock? Motor removal question for MT2

Hey all,

I have a HPI Nitro MT2 and am trying to remove the engine.

Unfortunately I can't unscrew the 4 screws holding the engine from the bottom of the chassis. In the manual it says thread lock is used on these 4 screws.

The screws are phillips type and I can't unscrew them without beginning to strip them.

Anyone have some tips on what I can do to remove these screws?

Thanks!!!

Brandon

Yeah, a drill, I drilled mine out. I just drilled them down far enough that the head of the screw popped out, I then used a pair of vice grips and unscrewed the screws from the engine, I then bought new screws and and sold the engine with the new screws on ebay for $50.

I removed mine a couple of nights ago. My dad tought me a trick about threadlocker a long time ago. If you will tighten the screws just a touch (to get them moving) they will back right out. It doesn't always work, but it did for me...
