Default help me pick!?

im a beginner in the nirto rc hobby although i have raced on-road electric (tc3) for about 2 years . well i want a real rc! loud, fast, and mean but im not sure if i want the hpi rtr3 evo or the hpi savage (the rtr version) whats easier to tune? i had a on-road nitro before when i was 14 but had trouble tunning it right and got frustrated and sold it but now im 21 and ready to try again! i have a better understanding and i have friends in college that have nitro rc's so i can find a helping hand if need be. so what do you guys think....savage or evo? hpi is a great company and i would like to stick with them!

You want us to compare apples to oranges. The evo is a 1/10 scale on road car and the savage is a 1/8 scale monster truck.
You have to decide were you want to run your rc. If you have a place to run off road get the savage. If I had a place to run off road I would have got the savage, but I don't. But I do live across the street from the high school with a big parking lot so I went with on road (18SS)

true, but i was thinking more in terms of just the engines and their comparative ability tunning/ running wise.

both engines will run equally fine, its all about how well you can tune, onroad engines arent really different from offroad engines, they all tune more or less the same, learn to tune and you'll be fine, here is some help http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5517128/tm.htm
