Default Savage X Vs Savage X 4.6

Do you guys think its worth selling the X and getting a 4.6? What are the major differences only engine and brakes?

Thanks

For a good comparison go to HPI web site it has a lot more then what you may think. As far as selling your Savage to get an X SS you might be better to slowly up grade yours.

You would loose money selling your truck. Just buy the upgrades HPI gives out free upgraded diffs for the x just call them up. The only other diffrence is the engine as far as I know. YOur better off buying an aftermarket engine the 4.6 is better then the 4.1 but for 130 dollers you can get an axial I think and it will blow the 4.6 away.

aluminum diff cups, the new dual disk brakes, and the engine are the only differences. get one of the evil, mean, and nasty bang for the buck motors instead of that pos Force 28

Just get yourself a .28 engine of your choice and a HPI dual disc brake kit and you'll essentially have the same truck. If you really want the new F4.6 RTR, by all means buy it.[8D]

They upgraded all of the current Savage kits with the aluminum diff housings a few months back......tell them that yours didn't have them. If they are sympathetic they will send you a couple of alloy diff housings. I think they are only offering this to X model Savages....older Savages don't apply.

Yeah thats what I told them. The alloy diffs were included in Feb so I told them I bought a Savage X in mid January and that Ive shredded diff gears on two occasions. I said my lhs told me the plastic cups expand on high RPMs and loosen the mesh inside. He took down my info and a week later, free cups And Ive never has diff problems, I needed the alloy cups since Im installing an STS .30 into my old 25 but it wont fit[&o]

Yes. You will notice the increase in torque the first time you stab the throttle.[8D]

They don't want to see any proof of purchase?

I bought a used X with a broken antenna on the tx and wrecked diffs, so I sent hpi an e-mail and they sent me a new antenna but no diff cups. I didnt push it and ask again, I just got a set of Golden Horizon aluminum diff cups. But its worth asking them.

No its Not worth your time. Spend the money on the new upgrades comming out with the new X 4.6 RTR, Also the performance parts from the aftermarket manufactures.
There disk brake system is much better design for us bashers..

Its money best spent.

Enjoy
