Default installed new clutch shoes and springs

last night i put in new clutch shoes and springs (mugen aluminum ones)

It seems now.. that i can sort of rev the engine before they will engage.. the old ones were real easy to move up and down.. and these alum. ones i can barely lift up with my fingers.l.. not sure if i actually did..

But i ran it for a small bit today, and cant figure out if its something i did.. or if it really is just how strong those shoes/springs are...

But when i get up enough rpm's and it catches, the thing FLY"S off.. i mean it will just take off and pop up the wheels with no problem if i do it right..

So im thinking its normal for it to be tough to engage?

Yep, that's the function of the clutch. these aren't the weak-arse stock springs you've got now

I too got a new set of alloy clutch shoes(HPI) and it came with 2 sets of springs, gold(thicker) and silver(thinner). It say that I should use the gold one for 4.6 block and silver for 4.1 block. Question is can I use the gold one to my Savvy X 4.1 block? If so, will there be any parts of the engine that might get damage??? Just a little confuse
