Hi before i start my savage x ss that i bought off ebay(pre used 6 tanks) as i was putting the flywheel to bdc i noticed that it tthe flywheel turned both ways,is this normal?
Also i was going to buy nova allot shoes but i realised i will need something like mugen 1.0mm springs. So im going to buy mugen shoes and springs together from ebay.
Howlong will the springs last?
Howlong will the shoes last? Thanks.

the only reason to use mugens in your savage is to have hte alum...
so yes, i was talking about the alum. shoes.. they should last your quite a while.. and the shoes/springs together arnt exspensive..

Your springs will outlast your shoes. I've been running the mugen alloy shoes for a while now & they definitely bite better than the original shoes. I've found the mugen alloy's also wear quicker than some of the other alloy shoes on the market also so you have to decise if you prefer better cluch engagement or longer lasting alloy shoes. I would also recommend the 1.0mm springs over the std or the 1.1mm as they seem to have the better take of point for clutch/engine rpm engagement

i also run the mugen alluminum shoes with 1mm springs
they last around 4 gallons. and i just replace the springs when i replace the shoes. but you don't have to, i just do it as a precationary so the springs doesn't break and ruin my day

The std shoes will last around the same time as the alloy...maybe a little less, maybe a little more...all depending how you drive. The plastic shoes will slip more than the alloy so heating up your clutch bell more & affecting the bearings at the same time. Plus if you run a plastic spur gear the heated clutch bell will also soften the teeth on the spur during hard bashing& can cause the spur to melt/strip.
Go with the alloy shoes, you won't be dissapointed but they do require a little maintenance be de-burring the edges of the shoes from time to time

They last until they need replacing, depending on your driving and tuning skills. End of story.
Us telling you how long they last won't change how long they ACTUALLY last. The mugen shoes are as good as any other. Get them on the car already!
