What is everyone running for steering servos? It's the first upgrade I'm gonna make, as the sf-2 seems lethargic to me. Any advice would be great. I will be racing more than bashing, but plenty of both. Revo wheels/ tires for now, eventually switching to some dish wheels and 40 series pins.

Depends on your budget. Since you have more racing in mind, perhaps a digital servo is the way to go. They're not cheap.
I use a TowerPro MG995 for steering for my Savages and are workhorses. Turns 40 series tires/rim on standstill. Great bang for the buck IMO

Take a peek at the new JR8711 Digital servo. It puts out a crazy 400+oz at 6v, .15 I believe. It runs around $140. I stuck one in my muggy with aluminum servo horns, and she will definatley crank those large wheels around!

Anything with at least 200oz torque with a speed of .13 or better. I all so have the Tower Pro but after over 5 gallons I am starting to get some play in the gears but for less then $25 shipped I am not going to complain! I just got another one off ebay for about $18 shipped.

Thanks for all the help fellas! Bad news on my end however, as I shelled my spur gear today (first time driving it). So my focus will now be to repair/ upgrade that. Any suggestions? Go to my other thread "bought the savage" for more details and a pic!
