Hey guys,
I am really starting to like the Savage X, thinking of buying a X 4.6 when it comes out. I have never seen a X run in person though. For you savage x owners out there. How's the truck in the air? Is it a constant battle to control the trucks attitude while grabbin huge air? Seems like a lot of videos out there show the X landing on its rear most of the time. Are the brakes that weak to not bring the nose down if you need or want to?

I dont have a problem contolling my x in the air, but the stock brakes do suck pretty bad. You need to upgrade to the dd brakes and a new servo. If you do get the x 4.6, i dont think that braking will be a problem.

No, the drivers are noobs. It's one of the better 'flyers'.
To be fair though you need a pretty powerful engine to do it effectively (change attitude in the air or do backflips) but with a well designed ramp and a quick throttle finger and it's no problem.
Stock brakes are rather weak, but if you have the dual disc brake upgrade (standard on the X SS and probably the new X4.6 RTR as well), then it's actually easier to do forward flips than front, as long as you carry a lot of speed onto the ramp.

You need a ramp that can give you decent shock preload. A steeper incline helps this I just have this POS ramp thats straight and about 8" high on the end I can jump fine until about 3/4 throttle then I have problems keeping it level, probably because im still learning though. Then again I dont use that much throttle to hit a jump at the track anyway.

Ive found my Savage to be an awesome jumper. This is due to the really long shocks 13lb weight (which helps a lot when it comes to stability) and the soft stock tires. Jumping it is really fun unlike my T-maxx which is unpredictable and breaks after every 2' jump. You should definitely get the DD brakes unless your going for the newer versions. They are pretty strong.[8D]
