Get a second savage or some of those nice tvps from that guy on this forum whats his name? J/K. I must say it's your $700 bucks but spend wisely $700 is a lot but can go very fast on just a one or two big buys like 2 new EB nova .28. My personal list is; new TVPs, full set of rpm arms or CF arms, new rims & tires, body, ring & pinion (HBC9009, HBC9010), nomraido react, raido box cover (hpi#7121) and a few other things that I can't think of.

$700? That's a lot for mods. If you are smart and spend wisely, you can modify your Savage to improve performance/looks AND still be able to get another truck if you so desire.[8D]

if i get the aluminum shoes, do i have to do anything to them or the clutch bell before i put em in. (scuff them up etc.) As well, how often do u need to file down the edges.

Thanks

No install prep needed, just install them out of the bag. As for maintenance filing, that all depends on how much you use your truck, etc.

I'd honestly replace that MotorSaver air filter if you get another engine. the stock Savvy LE/X/4.6 air filter is about the best you can get as far as filtration goes.

Also...$700? HOLY MOSES, last time I got that much for my birthday was....well, never you be rollin in dough!

Why? It can't be from a lack of filtration. I've had my truck literally buried in a super fine, silty dirt/sand mix and everything on/in the truck was just caked with the stuff, air filter included. To make a long story short, the filter looked horrible and I expected the worst when I removed it, but when I pulled it off the carb there was 0 dirt in the intake tube and carb venturi. The dirt never got past the inner mesh-the inner foam was still clean. Recently this kind of terrain is normal for me and I've yet to find dirt where it shouldn't be. If it will pass this unoffical filtration test, it will pass anything. I'd recommend the Motor Saver to anyone in a heartbeat.[8D]

My issue with the motorsaver is this...

when you wash/reoil an air filter element, they shrink. instead of shrinking AROUND it though, the foam shrinks inside the filter cage on the motor saver, which CAN, theoretically, allow dirt and all kinds of nasty **** in your engine.

Theory or not, I don't like those odds[&:]

np dude. I noticed it the first time I washed a motor saver element...chcuked it in the trash. luckily it was with my XTM 247 and not something that's less tolerant of abuse

I bought a motorsaver for my Savage... ended up putting it on the LST2 because it didn't look any better than the stock HPI filter. I cut some of the little bars off of the "cage" that the stock filter element goes over, just in case it was a restriction, but it's fine the way it comes.
