Default Starting Pin Spring

So after about maybe an hour of run time through my new savage x the starting pin spring broke and seems to be bent.Thankfully HPI is replacing it for free. So my question is, what are the best upgrades I can make to my savage to improve durability. Also, would tightening the slipper clutch stop my wheels from spinning with no throttle appiled?
Because my car still stalls when I let go of the throttle, but it wants to take off on me.

Turn your idle down via turning the idle screw counter clockwise.

If that spring breaks again just use the spring out of a pocket lighter. If it's too long cut it in half and you have two.
