Default Bent wheel

I bought a set of Proline 40 series Mambo wheel shodded with Big Joe and been using them for the last few days
Only today I notice that one of my wheel is wobbling bad
After some swapping and changing arounds, found that the reason that that wheel wobbles is the hex is not sitting properly in the wheel.

Had anybody manage to bent these wheels or did I got a bad manufactured wheel ?

Its probablly a poorly manufactured wheel, unless it is broken somewhere.

Ya, I would have to say the same thing.

Where did you purchase it from. I would take them back there and see if they could give you some help. Also i would check to make sure that some of the molding pins arnt inside the hex. Or any other crap for that matter.

Did the tires run fine when you first put them on, or has this been like this since installation?

Bought it from Tower, but am living too far away for a return.

Problem is that when I put it on when new, I did not check if they ok.
So not sure it is bad manufaturing or I bend something during a bad landing.

myrcsupply, did make sure that the hex is sitting properly.
I used one of the other wheel on that axle, and it runs true.
Have make sure that stub axle is not bend, by using the original HPI wheel
Even put the bent wheel on another axle and it still is wobbly

I am wondering if anybody else has this problem, and looks like nobody does.
So I would be assuming that it is a bad landing that causes this.
But looking at the wheel, it sure is build strong, more likely to crack than to bend like this

Looks like it is out with the dremel tool and try to file off some material in the hex hole on the wheel to make it run true.
Hopefully I can get it to run true, without filing too much off.

I have the Proline 40 series with 23mm hexes, I have never had the kind of failure you describe, but then again, the other parts seem to have failed before the wheels have. I've bent stock tie rods (I now use Lungsford titanium tie rods), I've also bent a couple of 96mm Traxxas tie rods, I split the upper a-arm, bent shock arms, popped countless stock shcock caps, but fortunately, I have never trashed my Proline wheels or hexes.

I just got a set of Velocity wheels and moab 40 series tires and they are heavy as hell, I wouldnt reccomend them to anyone. They look cool but as I was told by Cronic I would have been better off with a smaller set of tires. But Ill run em for now till the wheels break and get somethin else.

Nice Savage! My parents would seriously kill me if I dare put my Savage on the hood of the car.

As for your RPM arms, how do they hold up to the heavy weight of your 40 series wheels and the heavy Moabs? How well do they take landings from bashing? just curious to know if hey can take as much as the stock HPI arms.

So far the rpm arms seem pretty strong and have held up to some pretty hard bashing, I heard that if one ever breaks they replace em for free, so we will see how true that is. As for putting the savage on the truck, its mine and my wife cant say anything cause I bought it. But If I was younger my parents would have a fit if I put it on one of their vehicles.

Is that pic of the truck with twin engines in your profile yours?
