hi guys,
i bought a 4.1 x savage and have starting problems. i run one tank of 16%nitro and 15%oil with the weels of the ground at low revs. then the other day engine hard to start.when it starts after a few minites cutof when i open the throtle.then hard to start again. lots of cranking ....
ai am new to cars and dont know what is wrong.
i must lean the mix? the first time , when i start the engine noticed that when it was at the ending of the fuel in the tank the engine increased the revs very much then quits .
this mean that the fuel mixture is rich and thats what it should be. why i crank a lot to start the engine?
maybe the fuel???oil???
it is nornal for the engine to quits?
thanks very much

1st, HPI recommends between 20%-25% fuel. 2nd, try warming the engine up using a hairdryer or heatgun. I had to use my heat gun the first and second time I started my X. Hope this helps.

the reason why your engine is hard to crank, because it is a brand new engine.
brand new engine hanve a tendency to be tight, therefore you need to loosen the glow plug.
try that, that should work.
if that does not work, your engine might be flooded.

hi,
thanks for the help.
the engine turns but i must use the rotostart too long.parhaps 20 sec for three to five times and then the engine will start.also the engine is already warm because it is running and sudenly quits. it is dificult to restart it!!
it is normal to quit so easy? i must have the roto in my pocket all the time and to have spare batteries....
thanks

run Byron 20% it helps a lot and loosen the glow plug a bit. i started mine with a few drops of after run oil to lubricate the engine a bit and make sure your piston is on the BDC before you crank it.
