HPI is rating them both at 2.9hp...but we all know that advertised horsepower is poo-poo. I agree that the K4.6 will "have a leg up" just because the X SS is their premium truck......unless HPI has a new engine in the waiting.[8D]

I think the f4.6 will not be as good as the K4.6. I think it will be more user friendly with the simipler carb, less agressive porting and a external one-way bearing ( I hope).

Then how are they getting that top end speed? Or is that poo poo too?

I just heard on a German forum that the design-flow between Axial and HPI has reversed, and that this fall the new X SS will have a purple-headed version of the new Axial 28RR....

OK my conscience is getting to me..
JUST KIDDING!!..
Don't want that to become some rumor..
Anyway, was just a silly idea.
The current SS kit and the new 4.6 RTR DO seem awfully close to each other performance-wise though.....

They should sell the x-ss minus the motor since no respectable person would run it when there are alot better choices out there.

The "no engine" X SS kit that Tower sells does comes with the aluminum pipe and header-listed right there in the features. No engine is what differentiates this truck from the regular X SS kit.[8D]
edit-I've got one of these and a Axial .32 on my wishlist. I should have it this Christmas. Hopefully Parma releases the new Digger XX body by then too.
