Hi,
You can use a 6 pack nicad or simular.
Or you can use a 2 cell lipo battery 7,2 V this works fine! I use it since one year now And Bennie from AMT said the higher voltage isin't a problem.

You will need a battery to power the ECU. Either 7.2 ( 6 Nicads at about 12-1400 mah) or 9.6 volts. We have used 7.2 volts for years without any problems.
