Default AMT Mercury battery

Hello guys,

A friend of mine bought a second hand AMT 180 Mercury engine (air start).

Even before he recieves the motor, we would like to know whih battery is needed to run this engine, since it doesnt have an onboard starter ?

Hi,

You can use a 6 pack nicad or simular.
Or you can use a 2 cell lipo battery 7,2 V this works fine! I use it since one year now And Bennie from AMT said the higher voltage isin't a problem.

Regards, Henk

You will need a battery to power the ECU. Either 7.2 ( 6 Nicads at about 12-1400 mah) or 9.6 volts. We have used 7.2 volts for years without any problems.
