Oct 5th thru the 7th weather permitting come and fly at the Tecumseh Nebraska Airport. Work is complete on the runway and ramp and it is nice! I can't believe they did all that work just for the Missouri Valley Jet Scramble next year
Nothing fancy planned just bring your jets and fly!
See ya

Not sure if Tom will be there, let me know if you hear anything. Will you have your F-16 ready? If not bring what you have to fly, Prop, electric, rubber band! Its an open weekend for everyone so bring what you want to fly, will make room

Good to see your still hard at it Mark! I miss coming to Tecumseh. Most of the MN jet guys are currently out of the hobby. I do have a few things laying around I may try and fire up. Good Luck!

Hey Scott!
We miss you guys! That would be cool if you can get a jet or something flying again just to get back behind the sticks. The Nebraska guys really do appreciate the Minnesota contingent for your past participation at MVJS events and hope that maybe sometime down the road you all will be back to flying jets!!.
Went to Tecumseh today for a little jet flying and it was great, wind right down the runway. The Airport is just about ready for full scale stuff with some electrical work and some dirt work. Should all be done by the middle of next week.
Hope to see a few of you in a couple of weeks

Hi, Mark. Do you have any pix to post showing the extent of the improvements? Are the October dates the new timeframe for MVJS in 2008? If that's the case I think a sizable contingent would participate from CO. We're so used to the balmy summer temps along the Front Range that the 105+ F heat index temps at Tecumseh in August used to really kick our ass - October would be great!

Hey Mike
No pic's but might get some later this week. Basically the runway and ramp were milled down and a 6 inch cap was pored over. They also extended the ramp to the north and added a taxi way to the north end of the runway from the hangars. The grass areas around the hangars are now all concrete. There will be new taxi way and runway lights installed this week. The company doing the work did a nice job of leveling things out and getting runoff to flow away from the hangars and runway. it is a noticeable improvement to us and looks allot different than before.
We're just putting out the word for a little get together 5-7 October. We have kicked around changing the dates, may do that for next year it just depends on who is all involved next year and how the group wants to proceed. My personal feelings are the Aug justs dates are kind of set now for MVJS as next year will be the 9th year out of 10 (2007 cancelled because of the new runway) but later in the fall could be a possibility now that Superman is not happening.
Weather is another factor, typically yes its hot but rain is less likely in Nebraska in August that would last 3 days. Mostly it is thunderstorms late in the afternoon into the night. October you can have extended periods of rain that would wash out the weekend. October can be the best flying weather too, its a crap shoot and we will certainly be talking about dates so more to come on that.
Hope to see you in a couple of weeks.

Jerry and I will be there. I've got some jet fuel to burn off before the winter storage... yea, that's my story and I'm sticking to it...
Won't be heading up 'till after work on Friday, but should be set for a full weekend.

Well--The weather is real iffy at best right now. Depending on what site you look at, Accuweather, Weatherchannel, Weatherunderground all kind of look different but have one thing in common--WINDY. I dont want to sound pessimistic but it's not looking good for Friday or Saturday with winds over 20mph with gusts into the 30's Sunday looks wet depending on who you look at but not as windy.
For now I would say its a no go.[&o]
Sorry guys, I wish the weather forecast was more positive.

I dont think the sportsbar there in Tecumseh could handle 4 Tiger fans especially when their team is whoopen some Husker butts. I hope we keep it close though and make it a game, I cant handle another USC game!
Sorry for the weather cancel, was really looking forward to the weekend. Mother nature must not like me[
