Well, I had 25 cans on order from Scoutmansupply.com, however they do not have any and do not know when they will get any more.
Do any of you have a great online source for this stuff?

I have about 14 of the large bottles that I bought this summer at Gander MT. They cost about $6.50 with tax. I would sell them for $4 a can plus shipping. I went to propane so I don't use this anymore. I don't know if I can ship this through the post office. Does anyone know the rules on this?

Big 5 Sporting Goods is a good source on the left coast. $4.99 a can. They have gone to new packaging. It now has a white paper wrap and is called just "MAX". Same stuff, new marketing.

"IF" the contents are declared????? [X(] Just to be clear............
PLEASE, please, please, everyone....DO NOT SHIP THIS type of material without declaring it for what it is. A potentially dangerous flammable substance.[:@]
The life you save might be, well, mine!
(I'm FedEx, and we carry a lot of the postal stuff too).
Nevermind my skinny butt, the fines if you get caught shipping this stuff without declaring it as hazardous material in this post-Valujet world are huge.
Off of my soapbox now, and back to your regularly scheduled programming[8D]

I wish we would all take an oath to strike Powermax from the threads for ever coming up again. This has been the subject of about 129457676909302775965 threads!!!
Sports Authority PEOPLE!!!!! Any comaping store will have it in California. It is not available just anywhere so if you dont have it locally then you SOL!!!! Try GOOGLE then!!

If your paying more than 4-5 bucks a can then you can get it pretty cheap somewhere else, but were are not talking about saving a huge amount here, its a $4 item.

It's a 6MM Festo coupling but the nozzle is ~ .005 undersized so it's not a very reliable connection. The other end is just a short pc of PVC Tubing with a reducing hose barb.I think I will solder a brass barb directly to the valve nozzle for a safer connection.

The MSDS sheet for Powermax lists it as 65% butane and 35% propane. That's pretty close to the mixture of the stuff you found. It should work OK, I would think.
I went by the local Dick's Sporting Goods and they didn't have any Powermax, but they did have this stuff:

Its an 80-20 blend. It should be OK for warmer temperatures. I'm going to try it this weekend. I may have to adjust the gas flow a bit, but we'll see...
