Sin City Jets is a Go for November 2-4. There is field and map information at www.sincityjets.com/events.htm . Landing fees are $49.99 if paid before October 30th. It will be $10 additional at the field. There will be on-site kero and concessions.

Post any questions or comments, or call the number below. It will be a great time.
Hotel Information:
Sunset Station and Fiesta Henderson are the nearest hotel casinos. Neither of them are on the strip, however they are a little more affordable, with rooms ranging from $80 - $150 a night, depending on the night and hotel. They are both located near the flying field which is off of I-95/5195 & Russell Rd exit.
For those with money to burn, Green Valley ranch has rooms available from $199-$259. All of these hotels are located in Henderson, Nevada.
Information for the above casinos can be found at www.stationcasinos.com/stci07/
For those that want to stay in old downtown (Fremont St, Goldent Nugget, Binions, etc.) they are only about a 15 minute straight shot down I-95/515.
Field Information:
The field is located next to the Sam Boyd Stadium and is the site of the previous Tournament of Champions flying competition. It is located near Sam Boyd Stadium (UNLV stadium). It is right off the I-95/515 exite at Russell Rd. The landing dtrip is a hard paved runway 700 x 75 feet long (the picture says 150' wide, but that is incorrect). There will be soft barriers up at each end of the field to account for a lack of soft runoffs.
We will have an area set up to store the planes in the evening. The first few people that arrive in mobile Homes will be allowed to park up on the main parking lot to form a camping circle. The storage area will be inside this circle and should allow for overnight storage.
Pilot's Briefing will be at 0800 on Friday and Saturday. Feel free to call me directly at 702.521.8010 with any questions or help with travel arrangements.

Also, Circus Circus is a place on the strip that usually has pretty good hotel rates, AND they have a big arena for children to play and hang out. Their website is www.circuscircus.com

Please drop me a line and let me know if you're bringing an RV. Also, if you have any idea how much Kero you may be needing while you're out here. Depending on the price of Kero at the time, it will probably be around $5 per gallon at the field.

RV space on the top parking lot (right next to the field) is filling up. If you are bringing an RV and want to park up top, shoot me an email.
We have confirmed Kero and Smoke oil will be available at the field. I want to send out a thank you to Todd at Dreamworks, Eric at Jet Central, and Wagner at Fei Bao who have already sent their raffle items. There is more to follow!!
Call, email, or PM with any questions.

Justin,
Sunset Station, Fiest Henderson, Sams Town, and Boulder station are all pretty close. None of them are over-the-top as far as price goes.
Let me know if you need any assistance.

Hi Chad,
Way back in the early nineties, I flew pattern several times at the Bill Bennett Field and there were a few frequencies on 72 mhz that had problems. Is that still the case? If so, which ones so that I can change before I get there..........................I'm looking forward to the event!
Tailwinds,
John

John,
I have heard of what you are talking about before. Although in the past few years, I have not heard of any "trouble" frequencies. I will ask around at the club this weekend and see if anyone has crossed any frequencies off their favorites list.

I don't know about THOSE Cali boys, but Matt West and Mark Taylor from Fresno are IN.
Remember, what happens in Vegas, ends up on RCU!
Those guys from LA are still probably hung over from Fresno Jets ...

Oh man, I wish I had heard about this event sooner! Is this going to be an annual event? Nice to see another "western" jet meet. Can't wait to see pictures.

Matt, we'll see you soon.
Mark, it will be an annual event. Try and make it down if you can.
I will be posting pictures of the event throughout the weekend....live from the field.
Weather is forecasting to be sunny and in the upper 70's all weekend. Winds are still TBD. This last weekend they were dead calm.....we'll see what the next few days brings us.

So far, the weather is looking great. We will be setting up the field on Thursday. Those arriving early enough on Thursday with RV's will be able to park up near the filed. Otherwise, there will be parking in the RV parking area below the field.
Everyone will be able to drive up to the top parking lot for loading and unloading of their planes and equipment.
Email or call with any questions.

TODAY'S THE DAY! I HOPE! As long as Uncle Ben Bernarke doesn't do something outrageous with the Fed Rate today, I'll be heading out in the RV early afternoon!
I've been kinda out of the loop lately do to work, but, hope to change that this weekend with lots of flying and fun.
See Ya there!

So far, Accuweather puts the winds at calm to 10 for the whole weekend. Doesn't get much better than that (providing it doesn't change between now and then).
So far we have people coming all the way from the U.K. as well as Portland, OR. And we look forward to seeing our California and Arizona neighbors.
We'll see everyone soon!
