If you already have a boomerang XL is there a reason to also get the Elan?
Is it faster or more aerobatic or just a new jet on the market?
Thanks!.......

I have an XL and saw the Elan fly at Florida Jets last year. Personally I see no reason to own both. My XL flys great and is fast enough ( 173 mph with a 28 # thrust RAM 1000 ). The cost difference between the two is very minimal. I think the XL is a better value.

Well i have two Elans and a Xl but it's on you on what type of flying. The Elan can go both ways and it will fit in a small car. (Think of the diffrents between King Cat and the Bob Cat)

I have had a fair bit of stick time on both planes, and they do fly surprisingly differently. The Xl is a real floater. Very lightly loaded, untouchable slow speed performance. I find the Elan to be more crisp and dare I Say it more precise. It is noticeably faster.
My own personal preference is toward the XL. I find it has a wider flight envelope. But I prefer the way the Elan looks. Also if I had a P-80 I know that I would have more fun with it in an Elan.
Just my thoughts
Regards Al

heli4me,
Check out this Boomer XL II , It belongs to my flying buddy. The non glass parts were stipped of covering glassed , painted and the stock canopy was replaced. Most people think it's an Elan.
