Hi.
I am looking for another winter project and am considering this jet.
I saw this kit at Heart of Ohio. It looked pretty good. The intakes make an almost 90 degree bend in order to get to the Turbine which looks like it needs to be mounted very far forward (for C.G. reasons?). The rest of the jet looked nice. I did not get a look at the gear since it was retracted. My only other concern would be the small fuel tank and no other space to put an additional tank. It looks like you need at least a 120 in this bird. I would put a Titan in it (too much power yes but only a few dollars more than the 120 when buying a new engine). Has anyone flown one? I would like to hear some feedback before taking the plunge.

Woody, I don't know about the FB one. I own a PST wich is 73"L x 73"S. Only 3,3/4" shorter and 1/4" less in span than the FB. The proyected weigth is 22pounds dry and it should fly very good with a 14 thrust pound engine. I'm also concern about power to weigth ratio but everybody who flew one told me I should be OK with my pst 600r.. Terry is flying one with an wren SS and flys aweson. For me the FB is too heavy for the size. I'm very happy with mine and haven't test fly her yet. Just my opinion.

Dom, I have flown my PST at 24lbs dry with Wren SS, very nice flyer. Power is good and adequate for scale flying plus some. The panthers flaps are VERY effective, the larger motors might be better when really dirty than the small. That FB panther looks like a great jet for the money. Good luck and happy flying.

Thank you for visiting us on Heart of Ohio Jet event, I'm sorry that the LG was not opened, I'll place some F-9F landing gear.

The one I saw at Heart of Ohio was quite a bit larger than My PST Panther. I don't think a MW54 SS would be enough power. It would need the Wren XL200.............

We will fly the one that is in the picture with a Jet Central 22Lb Falcon.

How about a custom kit? I don't want the speed brakes and inner flaps. I also prefer to install the gear doors / hinges myself as I don’t like to screw the hinges on like the factory does. My idea of a custom kit would be this:
Inner flaps and speed brakes not cut free of the fuse
Blue and Yellow paint job
Landing gear doors and cylinders provided but not installed
Can you produce a kit like this?
Thanks!!

Well I bought one of these kits.
It is the blue and yellow version and I decided to order it with all options. The paint is drying as we speak. Wagner of RC JET MODELS is in China now and said my kit looks awesome. I will do a complete build thread when I get the plane. I am not sure what to start first, this or my Skymaster F-86. We will see what shows up first.

. Didn't you just finish an A-4 and an F-18 right before that? Quite a nice fleet you're building up there. Good luck with the Panther. Look forward to the build thread.Marty

Yeah that is true on the A-4 and F-18. The A-4 has 52 flights on it and the F-18 65 flights now. Both are still in perfect condition. Adding the Panther and F-86 to the line up for next season. Wagner from R/C Jet Models said my paint job is complete and drying. He is going to send me some pics that I will post when I get them. I think the Panther is going to be first on the bench.

Still waiting for the Panther. It is painfully slow in getting completed and shipped. Wagner maintained great communication throughout but I hope the jet ships soon. Here is a picture Wagner sent me of my kit during final assembly. The gear doors, dive brakes, inner flaps are all installed including the air cylinders. Even the fuel tanks and landing gear is installed. I think the control surfaces are hinged and glued too. I hope to get it soon.
