Boy you're opening a can of worms.

If you ask about performance, the DA and DL guys will HAVE to trash the motor.

I looks like a real nice engine, this isn't rocket science, buy it, fly it, report back how much fun you're having with it.[sm=thumbup.gif]

I bought another engine and reported on the performance, then I had to defend myself, it's not worth it.[:'(] Milton is a stand-up guy and he's trying to get good quality engines for a good price, looks like he's succeeding.

I've got one ,although not in an airframe yet, (but will be shortly) looks to be stacking up with the best of them.
Bench tune up certainly went well with out any problems.
I have no reason to think this won't perform as good if not better than the other's.
After speaking with Milton, I had no qualm's about buying one he seem's a very genuine sort of guy and ready to stand by his products.
I'm sure you won't be dissapointed.
I'm not so far..!!

The people that have business intetests in our hobby products are the ones most annoying in this forum. Happens all the time. Say anything negative about an engine, if they are politically or financially invloved in that engine, you will get trashed.

Back on topic, I hear great things about both DL and Area 51....light and very powerful. That's probably the next 50cc engine I would buy. BTW I have no business interest in either one. I only have an interest that it runs good for the money I spend on it....and that my airplane doesn't get damaged due to a flame out (that I didn't cause).

We try and catch those kinds of comments by vendors, and it's against the rules here. There are problems from time to time. Anyone can PM me, or the other moderators when that happens since it isn't fair to anyone.

22x10 Scimitar Profile from Master Airscrew. Best prop I have used for 3D. Works great on my 45cc too...very light but doesnt flex on pitch. Just a little on the tips....

Another great prop for 3D is the 22x10 Power Piont from Top Flite....Both these props are lite in the top end so I usually richen the high and lean the low for better slow 3D....Gives more tork in the low throttle range...

Joe AP

You have got to remember that these Chinese engines are all newer designs than the DA 50, and the DA 50 was the target numbers to beat. Imagine that, the Chi-Coms are showing US about competition and capitalism.

You got to touch the needles. They may be close from Milton, but they're not right on, you want right on. Gassers are different than glow, babying them is not good, you get carbon biuld-up, sticking rings, fouled plugs.

The getting too hot looks more like a cowling problem than a engine problem. I'll get picutes and be back in 10 mnutes to show you what I mean.

The big radial cowls make people think their engine is getting cooling air, but any air that doesn't go through the fins is not helping cool the engine, it may be hurting by pluging up the air exit. You did make a exit for the air? The exit should be about 3 times as big as the air inlet.
The one picture without baffling is bad, the on with it is what you want. I use foam board from a girly craft store. The third picture is of how I glue the baffle in.

I just got back from Mc Hodges and there War Bird flyin. I was amazed at the number of people that came to me a made comments on the engine, Not only the power but how smooth they ran,
One thing I found out this weekend about War Birds is that they look for speed not vertical power, There was a Zero there that we played with some props and found that with higher pitched or props that loaded the motor more gave more speed than the 3D props that gave more vertical, When we installed a Vess 22A and RPM 7050 it had great vertical but the speed was down, When we installed a 22-8 that loaded the motor more (can not remember the name of the prop) the RPM went down to 6400 but the speed went way up. The plane weighed 20 lbs,

I like happy customers and that is what we shooting for is happy customers.

Thanks
Milton
