I picked this motor up in a lot of RC stuff. All I know is that it is made in korea. Anybody own one of these or know when it was made and are they any good? Thanks in advance for any info. Dave

Hi there John Maloney, of World Engines, had these engines made in the early 80s, it is a smooth running twin, but not very powerful, compared to the current crop of 100 cc twins. go ahead and run it in a light plane and it will perform ok.

No its not a twin, its not near as big as a big twin 100 cc your thinking of. It look like about the size of a super tigre 3000. I wish I could take a picture camera is not working.

Yes, I have had a couple of them, Good little engines, just hard to start and not to powerfull
If it has been sitting for a while you might have to rebuild the carb,

I have a Maloney 100, and I think I've heard of a Maloney 125. they are 1 cubic inch and 1.25 cubic inch. They weigh about as much as a 3W 106cc twin though. Never ran mine, figured it needed some big old timer type plane. That was 22 years ago and I'm still not ready for the out to pasture slow flying thing yet so it's still waiting for a plane. But some day!

The way I remember it, John Maloney ran Indy RC (World Engines) back when they were a force in the model supply world. He wanted to bring an inexpensive gas engine to modelers; thus the Maloney line of engines. Unfortunately, they weren't very powerful. "They made good boat anchors," was the saying back then.
In those days Indy RC sold the ST and Como line of engines as well as the Lion warbird ARFS. I kind of miss those days......

I had one. I bought it at a swap meet for $35 and sold it at another for $50. Never ran it.
It sure had a neat muffler

I think that is what most of them do, just go from one hand to another at swap meets, They are neat looking little engines

Plan on using an electric starter to fire it up. I have had both the 100 and the 125. Both were very good running engines, but were way underpowered. I put the 125 in a Pica Waco, and immediately got rid of it. Sold it through Danielle's RC in Nashville TN.
