this is not something anyone here on the forum can decide for you.
it has been asked countless times and you always get the same responce. a bunch of people telling you to get the savage and a buch telling you to get the maxx, then people will tell you to get neither and get this instead, no that sucks get this one, etc etc etc.
if you are leaning toward the t-maxx get the t-maxx.

get the savage
...since everyonelse has the Tmaxx
...Tmaxx may be faster, but it all comes down to how you drive
...the savage is bigger...my bro has it and it runs over anything (including my RS4s)! but if you want to race, maybe you're leaning towards the right direction. just be thankful that you have the luxury of Deciding what to get between the two.

I had no problem whatsoever running over my buddy's RC 10 the other day with my Maxx! He kept running into the side of my Maxx to tip it over, so I ran him down and drove right over his 10. It was hilarious!

one of my friends just got a savage, the other got a tmaxx.
the savage is more built up for protection and is better for jumping. it is also faster on the take off than the tmaxx.
the tmaxx my other friend has is the old one with the .15 so its slower. but the electrical starter is very nioce

At our track, the Savage cleans house with the Tmaxx's. Also, since the Savage comes with a .21 engine u could easily upgrade to a better .21 engine like a Nova-Rossi or O.S. and get more horsepower. Where with the Tmaxx u would have to buy the upgrade kit.

They are running the stock 2.5 engines for the most part. Plus for the most part its a short track with one long straight away and several turns and jumps. Plus the savages seem to land better than the maxx's. Could be drivers. But u got 6 Maxx's and 2 savages cleaning their clocks

I could see stock Maxx's getting dusted by hyper 8 port or Picco powered Savages, but not stock ones. This tells me the Maxx drivers can't drive.

he said its a tighter track. the maxxs probably dont have the opportunity to use the top end they have. instead the savage is out cornering them and landing the jumps smoother.
speed on the straight is only about 10% of a race. its all about the corners.

savage holds the line and exits at 15mph, maxx has to slow down more and exits at 10mph
now the savage was able to hold more speed in the corner and pulls ahead by the exit AND has a speed advantage. now the maxx starts at a 5MPH disadvantage and once he gets to the same speed as the savage has to make up the distance he lost in the turn.
you need a WHOLE lot more acceleration to catch up and on a tight track you dont have the time because you are in a new turn and it starts all over. on a large open track there is more time for the maxx to make up the time and to pull ahead then its the savage playing catch up.
so yes, it does matter.

The tmaxx is a back yard basher. One friend has a savage and the other a maxx and the savage is ten times more durable!! His savage has done things i didnt think were possable. My buddys maxx cant even idle for ten seconds before it cuts. Hes happy for the electric start but without it he would have blisters from pulling a pull start every three minutes when it dies. As far as enjoyment goes a savage will give you care free hours of hard core bashing and nothing will break.

The only reason the Savage is taking over the thread is because of all the BS that's being posted. First of all, the Savage doesn't go through corners any faster than a Maxx. The one and only thing it does better on a track is take jumps, and that's because of its longer travel suspension. Secondly, the Savage is tougher than the Maxx, but it sure as he11 isn't 10 times tougher. Now if everyone will stop exaggerating everything, maybe we can get back to some constructive discussions.
