Hello. I am a newbie to Nitro R/C and was wondering if anyone can give me the most information possible. Tips on what not to do, what not to get, etc. I want to get a HPI nitro RS4 3 Type SS and I do not know what would be a good motor for it. I have been reading about this car and I like it. Before I get a nitro car I want to learn more about the hobby. If anyone can help plz reply.
Thanks.
Thanks.

The motor it comes with should be plenty of power for someone new to nitro. The SS was my very first real r/c and i've never had any problems with it.Get yourself a good radio tower hobbies has the Futaba 3PDF on sale right now for 179$$ along with lots of other ones.Get the HPI fiber brake because the stock plastic one wears out fast and take your time putting it together and follow the break in procedure and you'll have a blast with it.

Read all the info the car came with, especially the break-in procedure. Do exactly as the instructions say, and if you have any Q's don't hesitate to ask. Also, break it in all by yourself, don't do it with your friends around. Nitro cars are the coolest in the RC world, once you've started it, you will never go back. Read through some of these threads and you will find a lot of good advice. The best advice I can give is BE PATIENT.

With your friends around, it will be way more tempting to rev and race it before the engine has fully broken in, which will decrease the life of the motor.
PS... Is there a standard engine break in procedure? I have my stadium truck on it's way (hopefully before next monday, I am off work) and I want to make sure I break it in correctly.

I still found it hard to resist the speed bug while I was breaking mine in
.It's just so hard to restrain yourself even when your alone..lol.I always break the engine in according to the manufacturer. The made the engine so I think it's safe to say that would know best.
