or is there a better option becuase i dont want to regret buying a cheap one when one twice as much or 50 dollars more might be the way to go

The tower hobbies one is good for the price. You need to make sure that you get a compatible RX either with the unit or separate... otherwise you'll be talking to nothin :P

If you want to stay in this hobby for longer than you will play with your rustler and slash, a radio is an invalueable investment. I spent approx. $400 in radios before I finally bought a good one (DX3S). It went from the Futaba JR Sport, JR XR2i, DX2.0, then DX3S. I dont like the super cheap radios for the fact you cant even adjust EPA. You know you are buying a chepa radio when even the Exceed RTR cars that are $119 include a radio that has end points (EPA), sub trim, dual rate, etc. So if you want to expand your RC collection, you should get the DX2.0 at minimum. Also check out the DX2S (yes DX2S) its $180 and includes a receiver, 5 model memory, the same design and screen as the DX3S, and a $40 servo. That way you can use the same transmitter on all your cars.

If it were me I'd go with this one: [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXXMV5&P=7]Futaba 2PL 2.4GHz Sport[/link]
Computer functions and 10 model memory for only $110. Receivers cost more though @ $65.

I have a tactic radio in one of my slashs that I let others drive. I bought it because I had a $30 off duratrax coupon which owns tactic. However, if I was paying full price, I would spend the $20 extra and buy the Airtronics radio. That is a very nice radio for $99. Good features, 18 model memory, etc. That is a great value imo.
