Hi, guys!
Today I have got a new Traxxas Rustler VXL finally after long wishing!
Now I am wondering whether it needs a proper breaking-in process or not. This is first time for me to have a brushless powered electric car, while I have been running a nitro car (HPI Savage 25) and a brushed electric car (HPI Sprint 2 sport).
If a breaking-in process is needed, what kind of process do I need?
Thank you very much for your attention!
James

Brushless needs no break in, just charge her up, program the ESC for whatever battery you are using, and away you go! Just be sure to check over all the nuts and screws to ensure they are tight. I had wheels flying off my first Traxxas because they were a bit loose out of the box.

It's not necessary to break in a brushless motor. Program the ESC and make sure you have the proper LVC settings for your application. Also keep the motor temps well below 200F.
Enjoy your rig!

Just make sure you set up the LVC on the ESC. Don't want to ruin any batteries now. That is an excellent car. You may have to turn out the clutch some. I have the XL 5 with the Sidewinder 4600kv system and a 25C 2s 4000mah Lipo battery. It is so much better than brushed. Way better! Enjoy it. Mods for it are cheap and well worth it. Get some aluminum caster blocks. I'm not sure if it has them already or not. RPM front and rear control arms are excellent also.
