I installed the Kershaw Designs Dual 700 kit on my E-Maxx 3905. Ever since then I've been having glitching problems. I've read here that a better radio/receiver will do the trick to take care of my problem. My question is, what would you guys recommend? I've found the Spektrum DX2.0 for 129.99 and the DX 3.0 for 169.99. I've also been reading a lot on Futaba. Please help me decide!!! The budget must be under $170.00

I have looked into that and have not found any faults in the wiring. I'd like to get the better radio regardless just don't know much about them.

i'd get the futabla 2 pl 2.4ghtz, you don't need the 3rd ch, and the 2pl is a VERY nice radio i have the AM and LOVE IT, i may just have to get this one at somepoint
if you're looking at the tower for $80, the $20 is so worth it, id pay $120 or so for this remote, $100 is a steal, plus $50 in parts and you get $20 off your order from tower

I run this with my 3905 E-maxx Monster brushless............and i use it for my boats (receivers are only $20) and have never, ever, ever had a problem.....not one glitch........boats go til i can barely see them. I have no fear anymore of signal loss due to distance. I had one of my rigs glitching so bad with a Futaba radio and reciever and i hooked this unit up, and presto.........perfect. It has a steering end point adjusment along with your trim adjusters for steering and speed. Takes only 4 AA batts.

P.S. - i was wondering this myself............................ are you running the two 700's with a stock EVX? I was wary of that so i went brushless..........do you think the esc is putting up a fight trying to power two 400 watt motors at the same time?

and regarding the P.S. I am running the VX2 and I have had it do a thermal shutdown on me. BUT, I can only tell that its glitching when it's sitting still. It wants to move no matter what I do with the trim

the difference between the 2.0 and 3.0 is basically model memory the 2.0 only does 2 cars but i think the 3.0 can do up to 5 i have the dx3s on my slash that has a vxl and my tt01 which also has a vxl before i got this controller my slash did the same thing it cogged really really bad but now no issue at all the dx3s is a little more then your budget but the 2.0 is nice aswell and will take care of your cogging issue.

awesome man thanks a lot for the info! my local hobby store has the 2.0 for sale right now so I'll probably go that route

Get the DX2.0 and do the "DX3.0 mod" which involves removing a resistor and soldering it somewhere else. You will unlock the DX3.0's features, including extra model memory and the 3rd channel
