I have recently converted my Hot Bodies D8 over to brushless and I love it. Only thing is there is a lack of gear selection information on the internet. I am running a Mamba Monster ESC with the 2640 KV motor. I have 2 5000 mah 20c 2s zippy lipos connected in series. I currently have a 48 tooth spur gear and a 14 tooth pinion. I am trying to get a gear ratio that will give me the most power with out overheating the batteries or the ESC.

i'd say keep bumping it up by a tooth or two till you start to see temps go up, i'd say don't run anything that gets your motor over 160, but you can go to 180 maybe 200 same with the esc, but i'd say just cut it off at 160 and maybe drop down a tad
