Hello All,
I purchased a metric 48P 17T pinion for my Tamiya DF-02 from Robinson Racing. I noticed immediately that the grub screw was standard. Since most everything I have IS tamiya and metric, I need to buy the right wrench. What is the "official" size so I can pick it up at my LHS.

It's probably 1/16th but some of the smaller sizes are .050". If you have a 1.5mm see if it almost fits, if it's close you need a 1/16th if its way too big then get the .050".

The standard Tamiya (1.5mm, I guess) is a tiny bit too small. The end result is that any kind of torque on the grub screw and it will slip. I essentially runied the grub screw by doing this. I will go get a 1/16th.
Thanks,
Darren
