About 3 years ago, i got my first RTR, a Team Associated B4, from my LHS.<<Which has a huge off-road track..1/10th>> I quickly got into the swing of things, and went to the weekly races every Friday night. For christmas, a year later, i got a T4 kit. I scrapped my buggy, and focused all my time and energy on my Stadium Truck. After some personal issues arose, i put R/C racing on the back burner. My collection of assorted parts along with my car and everything else collected dust in my shed. Then came my robotics class in High School. We had to create our own monstertruck out of wood.Figuring that i wasnt going to return to the hobby, i went and dismantled my T4, shocks, motors, esc, reciever. Allwere taken out and used for my class.
After recently getting in trouble with the law, i need a hobby that would keep me out of trouble. off the streets, away from "bad" people. I decided that i want to return to the world fo R/C racing. something that would look good to my P.O and the judge.
As stated above, my LSH runs a track that races 1/10th scale. My T4 sits in pieces. now im faced with a decision.
Fix my T4, which would cost nearly $300. Buy an RtR B4 and swap out the parts. OR make a purchase from a racer down at the track. He is selling a stadium truck and a buggy with bodies, and extra parts all for $300. Im pretty sure he wont include electronics. Everyone at the track seems to run Losi. and i cant decide what to do.
If you would like to assist in my decision, please post wether u choose Team Associated or Losi, and the kind of Buggy/Stadium truck. NO 4wd
thanks,
Country

It's $40 over the $300 you mentioned but if you can swing it Losi's Speed NT might be a good choice for you. It's RTR so it'll have mostly everything necessary to run and generally you can't go wrong with Losi vehicles.

Get whatever the LHS stocks the most parts for. That way, when you break you can fix it immediately and not be sitting the rest of the races. There's nothing like qualifying well just to sit out the main because you need a part that isn't available on site. Honestly, you can't go wrong with the Losi XXX-T, AE T4 , or even the newer Kyosho RT-5. If you can drive, you can win with any of these. The Kyosho is fast proving itself to be a force to be reckoned with.

alright, I'll say it.....does your LHS run a slash spec class? That's $200, and you got nearly everything, you'll just need some good batts, and a good charger.

I have to agree with Brain on this one, spec Slash racing is a blast. It makes for a nice level playing field and it all comes down to driver skill. It's a pretty inexpensive way to get racing in RC.

I can't speak for the relative popularity of those classes at your track, but at my track, stadium truck has gotten a lot smaller with the advent of Slash spec class.
You might want to look into the Slash, because 1. it's a hoot to race, 2. the trucks are cheap, and 3. the slash is darn near bulletproof. Spur gears and shock caps are the only things I've seen break at my track, even in our premier event which had about 50 entries in the Slash class.
That said, buggy is usually pretty popular most place, as it is here, but you've already got a T4. Why not pick up a new B4 or T4 and use your old T4 for backup parts?
