Default Smart-Fly Power Expander for JR Receivers

Hi,
So, I have an out of production Smart-Fly Power Expander for JR Receivers. This unit is a model #4804 and seems to work nicely. I want to know what the little servo wire is that is coming out of the bottom end? Is this for a pin/flag switch? Or do I need to install a wolverine or badger switch between the battery and this expander?

Thank You!
