Optical Kill Switch Question...

I am installing one of your optical kill switches on a new airplane I have under construction... I removed the Optical Kill switch from another airplane I have and it was working fine on that airframe... When I install / configure the kill switch on the new airframe, I don't get a green led on the transmitter module of the kill switch when I power on the electronics... Both airplanes use JR PCM receivers...

Is the kill switch transmitter toast??? Am I missing something???

RE: Optical Kill Switch Question...

Hi,
There are two things that happen a lot. First is that the channel is not assigned to the switch you are using properly. Have you checked to see if a servo works on this channel the way you would expect with the switch? Second is that the travel is not set at 100% or greater. You might also try putting on a channel that you know is assigned, like ailerons or rudder, and seeing if it come on when the travel is set at 100% or more (usually high rates). If all this fails they you may have a failed transmitter but this is very uncommon. Please let me know if you have any more qustions.

RE: Optical Kill Switch Question...

I tried the transmitter on multiple channels, including the ail / elev channels where I have 100%+ travel setup and still no green light... I have another transmitter on another airplane that I will remove and try on this airplane... I will let you know if the other transmitter provides the same results...

Also, I believe the green transmitter LED always lights up when the Rx was powered up... Then when the circuit becomes active, the red receiver LED lights up... In my case, I am not getting either a green or red LED when the system is powered up...

Thanks

RE: Optical Kill Switch Question...

Hello,
The green LED on the transmitter only lights up when the unit is active, ie, the ignition is hot. This is the first line of checking the unit to see if it works. If you still cannot get it to work send me your address and phone number at [email protected] and I will send you out a replacement.
