Sevro programming and PE problems

Hi, I am running all Hitec 5735 digital servos. They are programmable. I set the servos for certain end points with the hitec programmer and set everything else the way I want it. Then I plug the servo into a channel on the power expander which is then hooked up with my reciever and regulator and then my double 2400 LI- Ion batts. My problem is after i set the settings for end points with servo programmer the servos work fine. I plug them into the expander and they only move a tiny ammount against what i set them to with the programmer. Can any one help please!
Thanks
Jon

Hi Jon,
When you say they work fine after setting up with the programmer do you mean you are plugging them into the receiver to check them? There are only buffers in the PowerExpander and they should not change the signals coming out of the receiver. Please let me know more details and I will see if we can work through this.

They work fine the way i set them up plugged in to the programmer... When I plug the servos into the power expander they dont travel as far as what I set my end points to be in the programmer. I hope that helps

Hi Jon,
Try plugging them into the receiver without using the PowerExpander and let me know what happens. Does it do this on all channels or only one?

Hi bob, I tried my aileron servos and they are the ones with this problem I am having... Yes they have the problem thou the power expander as well as going straight thou the receiver.

Hi,
Have you checked your travel volume on those channels?

How do i go about that?

RE: Sevro programming and PE problems

You will have to find out from your transmitter manual. This is beyond where I can help you.

Ok thank you bob! I will try that

Flyerjon, I have done exactly what you are doing and it works fine. The PE has nothing to do with what you are experiencing. The problem, and it's not a problem but the nature of the receiver, is that the signal from the the receiver is different from the programmer. What you have to do is set your transmitter to the max travel for each channel minus about 5%. Futaba is 140% and I believe JR is 150%. Now set your center and end points with the programmer and check them with the receiver. The center will probably be off a little. This is where you reprogram the center and end points until you get them dead on when the receiver is connected.

Here is the video that will explain everything in much clearer detail than I have done.

http://www.downonthedeck.com/videos_instruction.htm

Watch them all and you will understand it. It takes some time to get this right but when you do its worth it. I programmed two servos per elevator half like this and I plugged all four servos into one channel on the PE. Both elevators move perfectly in unison and the same speed.

Programming servos is a little complex but worth the effort to learn. I also have four aileron servos plugged into one channel on th PE and they work perfectly. I reversed the travel on one wing so the servos move in the correct direction.

Again, the PE has nothing to do with your servo travel and settings, it's your receiver.

My question is why doesn't Hitec give you any of this info?
