Kill switch
I have the fiber optic kill switch. It is a few weeks old, working on a DA50. It has failed I think. The green LED can be switched on by the transmitter and seems to work fine. The other end that is connected to the ignition is the problem I think. The red LED stays on even when I turn the green LED off by the transmitter. It doesnt allow the ignition to work. I have removed the switch from the ignition ant it starts fine. Any ideas? I have changed the fiber optic cable already.

RE: Kill switch
Hi,
The red LED is wired in parallel with the ignition so if the red LED is always on the ignition should always be on so I am not sure why it will not let your ignition turn on. I can send you another receiver module. Please send me your info at [email protected]. I am sorry you had a problem and I will do my best to correct it. |
RE: Kill switch
Robert,
I know this is the MFG forum but I have a couple of questions on the above issue. Does the unit default on or off if no signal is received from the RX side unit? When the cutoff unit is removed from the engine, does the engine start and run? Sorry to butt in but I wanted to understand this better. |
RE: Kill switch
Hi,
The receiver defaults to off if no signal is received from the FO transmitter. The reason for this is if there is a total failure of the receiver the engine will be shut off. I am not sure what you mean by the second question. |
